What We Do

  • Adivo Associates is a boutique biotechnology consulting firm in San Francisco focused on rare diseases

  • I joined Adivo so I could work on intriguing problems at the intersection of biotechnology and business

  • During my time there, I worked for companies across the biotechnology industry, from small start-ups to fortune 500 companies, to analyze markets, develop strategies, and solve difficult challenges

Global

Market Analyses

One of the most common things I did is analyze markets with limited data availability, meaning I have to get creative to understand what’s really going on.

Understanding people, from how physicians interact with patients to how health officials prioritize funding, is key to understanding markets. I have had the opportunity to build in-depth models and work directly with clients to describe diverse, global biotechnology markets, including:

  • Human primary cells

  • Plasma protein therapies

  • DNA technology platforms

What I enjoyed most: Finding new ways to understand the story behind the data and developing strategies with clients to help them reach their goals.

Helping a start-up advance strategically

One of my all-time favorite projects was helping a start-up with a new drug discovery technology platform to identify a feasible disease to develop a therapeutic for.

My team asked: how might we minimize the risk of running clinical trials while maximizing the potential benefit in terms of both patient need and market opportunity?

What I enjoyed most: knowing that our findings gave the company their best shot at curing a disease that’s currently untreatable.
